Nice to meet you   About Me

Hello. This is Michelle Yuki Leon from MOM Family Support.

After gaining experience as a nurse in Japan in surgery, internal medicine, orthopedics, emergency outpatient, obstetrics and gynecology, I came to Canada in 1996. Although I do not have a Canadian nurse qualification, I have been running non-profit organizations such as free medical consultations and social gatherings for Japanese women and children living in Canada since 1997 based on my experience and knowledge in Japan. Since its inception, at the request of many mothers, it has held childbirth preparation classes in Japanese and English, and has provided postpartum mother and child guidance and breastfeeding guidance. Breastfeeding massage for breastfeeding learned in Japan has a long history in Japan, and was established by midwives and obstetricians to prevent troubles such as opening the mammary glands after childbirth, promoting milk-stimulating hormones and breast milk secretion, and preventing breast milk stasis. It is a technique of medical specialists in breastfeeding such as breastfeeding and improvement, but I have further established the basic technique that I learned in Japan as a painless and highly effective technique through my own research and experience, and it has helped many women breastfeed. In order to improve the problem, we are currently the only professional technician in Canada, providing it to Japanese women living in Japan and many Canadian mothers, and has received high praise.

Myself, Michelle Yuki Leon, am a former nurse who moved to Canada from Japan in 1996. I have experience of nursing in many categorized medical fields. With my knowledge and experiences I have put together this program of MOM Family Support since 1997. As I started with small gathering events to medical consultations; I have gradually added other programs into MOM Family Support such as, Japanese/English Prenatal Class, after birth care guidance, and lactation breast massage and consultations.

The history of breast massage in Japan is a popular tradition, this technique was researched by obstetrician and midwife specialistsThis technique helps for breastfeeding mothers and any issued of lactation problems. I have learned and taken the basic techniques in Japan and improved techniques with my experiences and provide advice within lactation consultations.

As a professional technician I provide pain-less massages and like to be able to help as many mothers.

Activity request I hope...

In order to enable many mothers to go to childcare with a calm mind, and to provide good physical and mental support, I will continue to study hard and make every effort to keep up with the ever-advancing flow of medical care. I hope

For mothers to be able to do child care healthily; to be able to support in any way. Studying to not fall behind in the development of medical technology and studies.

From now on...   In Future...

MOM Family Support is an independent activity, but I would like to continue to support as many mothers and children as possible.

MOM Family Support is a one person business, on going I like to be able to support many mothers and children as much as possible with this program.
